America 250: Three Presidents Lincoln, Grant, and Garfield Special Exhibition

This special focus exhibition features three watercolor paintings by Taos artist Oscar E. Berninghaus. Each painting shows a moment from the early life of Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant or James Garfield. These scenes remind us that these well-known leaders began as ordinary boys who worked hard and hoped for a better future.

This exhibition, on view May 16 – December 23, 2026, is part of the America 250 and SETX 250 celebrations taking place across Southeast Texas.
