CREATE! Workshops are recommended for ages 8 and up and are designed to be multi-generational, but please note that younger children may require additional assistance from their accompanying grown-up. We encourage family collaboration during these workshops. Children ages 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult registered for the workshop. Registrants will briefly discuss a selected collection item and then will appreciate art in a new way when they make their own art in the studio. Some CREATE! Workshop artwork must be fired in the kiln. Artwork will be available approximately three weeks after the class. Please check with your teaching artists to confirm your pick-up dates.
CREATE! Workshops have a small material fee per registrant, depending on the supplies used in the workshop. Space is limited to 20 people per session including children and adults – all attendees must register.
Learn how to print at the CREATE! Workshop: Radial Printmaking on Saturday, March 16.
Radial prints are made by rotating a small printing block around a central point to create a symmetrical design. Participants will first watercolor their 6″x6″ paper and then carve a 3″x3″ styrofoam plate to create a printing plate. The resulting print on top of the watercolor is graphic and bold. All materials are included with the $5 material fee.
Gallery Scavenger Hunts
Get ready for an adventure in art! Each Gallery Scavenger Hunt contains clues to help you find works of art in the galleries. They also feature questions to jump-start conversations about each artwork selected. Gallery Scavenger Hunts are appropriate for visitors of all ages. Don’t forget to pick up your Scavenger Hunt prize!
