Virtual Field Trips: Pre-K-Kindergarten Registration

Reading Rug: Give Me a Beat (Program is Full)

Clap your hands and make a sound – because we’re exploring rhythms all around! Students will stomp and clap as they explore rhythms in art, find their groove during the story Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb by Al Perkins, discover the noisy fun of percussion, and create their own musical instrument.

Studio Art Kits include 1 hand-drum for each student to design during the Art Studio portion of the project. Classroom teachers will need to supply crayons or markers for portions of the project.

Reading Rug: A is for Artist

Discover your inner artist as we explore the alphabet of art – colors, shapes, and artist’s tools! Students will find new ways to express themselves as we sing songs about colors, enjoy a special story featuring The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse by Eric Carle, and create a torn paper animal collage!

Studio Art Kits include materials for each student to create their own torn paper horse collage. Classroom teachers will need to supply glue sticks or liquid glue as well as crayons for portions of this project.

IMPORTANT: Due to copyright licensing laws, teachers must register to receive access to Reading Rug videos.
